Our company
DC Wafers is the first 100% Spanish owned company dedicated to the manufacturing of multicrystalline silicon wafers for the photovoltaic industry.
DC Wafers was founded in 2005, the construction of the plant in Valdelafuente (León) started at the beginning of 2008, and the beginning of production and commercial operations took place on June 1st 2009.
The current annual production capacity is 20 million wafers, equivalent to approximately 80 MW.
Currently, the staff is formed by 165 people, most of them with university and technical qualifications.
DC WafersR&D Departmentis formed by highly qualified staff, mainly relevant doctor engineers of the PV sector, which develop several research projects in collaboration with customers, providers and different Spanish and European Universities and Research Institutions.
The shareholders’ equity invested amounts to 10.7 million EUR. DC Wafers has iNova Capital, S.C.R. and Fondo Tecnológico Seguranza, S.C.R. administrated by Clave Mayor, as shareholders.
